Renée M. Winsky

President and Executive Director

Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO)

 

Ms. Winsky is the President and Executive Director of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), a public instrumentality established by the Maryland General Assembly to promote economic development through the development, transfer and commercialization of technology.  Ms. Winsky brings over 22 years of professional management experience to assist TEDCO reach its goal to be Maryland’s leading source of funding for seed capital and entrepreneurial business assistance for technology programs. In February 2007, the TEDCO Board of Directors appointed Ms. Winsky as President, after a long and thorough national search for a new leader for the organization. She is ultimately responsible for all operational, staff, technical, financial and program functions of the Corporation. She served as TEDCO’s Deputy Executive Director since January 2000.

Ms. Winsky serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tech Council of Maryland / MdBio, the Chesapeake Innovation Center, the TowsonGlobal Business Globalization Center, and the Mid-Atlantic Institute for Space and Technology Board of Directors.

 

Ms. Winsky was recently a nominee for Corridor Inc. Magazine’s “2007 Corridor Person of the Year” award and was named by The Daily Record as one of the “2008 Influential Marylanders.”

Ms. Winsky previously held the position of Vice President of the Information Technology Services Division of the Information Technology Association of America. Prior to that, she worked with the National League of Cities and its affiliate, the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors. She has also worked with the Maryland Municipal League and the City of Greenbelt. She has served on the City of Bowie Ethics Commission and on the Technology Council of the American Society of Association Executives.

 

Ms. Winsky is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a graduate of the Leadership Maryland Class of 2005.
